Here's my Trike build

I have mounted a Kuryakyn Hyper Charger to the Ultima 113. I dont like the fact that the engine ventilates into the air cleaner. I had also installed a tubing that was designed with banjo ends on it and an outlet nipple allowing you to hook up a rubber hose and aim that down at the ground. On my two wheeler this worked. However,... on my trike. The movement of air under the trike was different and when there was any oil mist exiting that line while I was riding. Everything underneath received a thin coating of oil. Nothing major. But I don't want any on my brake disc!

This picture shows the breather tube mounted to the heads.

On the left or rear head. Where the brass nut is. That's where the rubber hose would hook up. I took a different route and picked up a SS braided hose. One that hooks up as a hot water line.( Like in your Bathroom) I added that brass nut showing in the picture. It allows me to attach the line by screwing it on.

Tomorrow I have to purchase a new line. It will hook up in the same place as the one shown but will curve down or swoop back so that in runs along the top of the transmission cover. Thats where it will find a "T" connection. The leg of the "T" will be sticking up and I'll attach this miniature air filter.

Any oil will be returned to the oil filler tube.

I mounted a brass elbow into the rear of the filler tube housing.

I'll end up using black wrinkle paint to cover the brass look.

Tomorrow I'll pick up the rest of my supplies and will finish this out and post pictures.

Did you drill and tap the rear of the filler tube housing to insert the brass elbow?

Yes I did. I just ran a 3/8 24 NF over the 3/8 pipe threads and drilled and tapped the hole as well. Be using liquid plumbers tape and plumbers tape together to seal the threaded connections.

Awesome Thanks for sharing that you better patent that one before the MOCO figures it out:s

Nah,..... I didnt make any of the parts. Its just a combination of what ya find in the hardware store and then putting em all together. But making it look good. besides there's breathers that terminate into a filter above the heads, under the tank. The oil wont travel up hill and will return back down in the heads. I think Kuryakyn offers a set-up like that. Just have to be sure you have enough room under there to allow for a filter.

Since this last picture above in the quote. I had redid the brass elbow by adding 3 copper washers. This allowed the elbow to be tightened and end up facing the direction needed. Plus it shortened it's height and allowed the pipe to run along and closer to the filler tube housing.

I had to shorten the length of braided SS tubing and to dress this end up. I put shrink wrap tubing over it. This will keep the line's sheathing from unraveling at it's end.

Now I won't have anymore oil mist blowing back underneath my trike or on the side of the engine out of the air filter. Any oil or oil mist will in fact now be returned to the oil tank, the way it should have been designed in the first place.

You're right about that but the jeweled deflector sweeps down and takes your eyes to the filter. All the more reason to make up the kits and sell them. I'm sure there would be a market for them. If nothing else it's great advertising for you showing you're ingenuity and attention to detail which is second to none.
