Here's my Trike build

Always a class act never a dull moment and enjoy a true craftsman:s

Thank you Jack. I did those while I waiting for the wrinkle finish to dry on the cargo organizer that I've been building. Tomorrow I'll be placing carpet inside the organizer. As always, I'll post pictures.

Can you ever shut your brain down long enough to fall asleep? You're always thinking.

It seems to be on all the time. Even in the middle of the evening. I'll wake up with an idea. Get up and write it down and then back to bed. If I dont write it down. Ill keep perfecting it and I wont get a good night's sleep.

I guess where it all comes from is me being an Illustration Artist. Illustrators are trained to observe everything. Looking at everything from every angle. Gathering as much reference materials as we can in order to illustrate precisely. Back in the days of old. They didnt have cameras for the covers of magazines. They had illustrators.

So for now, my trike is my canvas.

This where one of the other Concho Skulls I made went. On the brake caliper.

I managed to get some work done on the Trike Cargo deck organizer. It has turned out very nicely and is almost finished.

The entire exterior is finished in black wrinkle paint. I had edged the doors with a rubber "U" channel to prevent the chance of getting my hands or sleeves caught on the metal edges.

Tomorrow I'll be carpeting the interior.

Even though I made it fit perfectly within the top section of the cargo area. To prevent it from bouncing upwards and hitting the underside of the bodies lid. I had placed Velcro in the four corners underneath to prevent that from happening.

Presently I'm waiting for a friend to get back to me with a schematic that I drew up, but he's proofing it for me. It will allow me to have an aux. battery in the Trike's trailer. When I have that I'll resume that phase of the build.

In the mean time,... I started another project. Back in the day when my black lab Spirit was a pup. He used to ride with me on the Harley. Now he's 85lbs and he about pulls full grown oaks trees out of the ground that he's chained to when I leave for a putt on the trike.

So to take care of that,... I started modifying the trike's pull behind trailer. I put a hatch in the lid of the trailer that will also have a keyed lock. I'll be able to remove this lid and stow it away in the trailer. The dog will ride in the trailer. He will be able to stand on all fours or sit or even lay down inside. The chain that I will be installing in the base of the trailer floor will be just the right length that will keep him from putting his paws up on the painted surface.

The 1st picture is the lid of the trailer

In this next picture I covered the lid's surface with a wide low tact tape. This will allow me to figure out the opening and prevent any unwanted scratches while doing so.

The hatch I found in an RV store. It was some kind of vent. But is perfect for what I need it for.

This is the hatch inserted in the opening I put in the trailer's lid. The surface of the hatch's lid will be covered again with black .040 aluminum. It will also have two corner latches and a keyed lock in it's center at the edge towards the rear.

The hatch's opening frame with be sprayed with the black wrinkle paint finish.

The picture below is the size of the opening with the lid open.

After much consideration. I decided not to install an auxiliary battery in the trailer. Instead,... I placed it in parallel with the trike's battery and it is now mounted in the trike as well. This definitely helps the trike's battery out. With the new LED tail lights (trike and trailer), Hog Tunes power amp, passing lamps, headlight, antenna amplifier, OEM radio and so forth. I'm sure to have the much needed strength now that the single battery I'm sure was being taxed. With just the one battery and all my accessories on. I could see my voltmeter drop to 11 volts.

I forget what their called. but their the ones that are sealed, maintenance free. They are made for HD by Deka Batteries. I was also told not to freak out when looking at the volt gauge. However I do see that it does drop from 13 to 11 when I have everything on. I have the stock OEM stator. Its easier for me to install another battery in parallel than it is for me to change out the stator. Which is brand new and not going to happen anytime soon.

You should be OK, we are using Deka now @ Sears and having very good results, they are a better battery than Johnson Controls was producing and American made, Good Luck on your on going project always a good read hope to see you in Daytona, Capital Jack:s
