Motorcycle Adventure To California

Thanks Bill, Jenny and I are having a blast following Pru across the country. He did a ride out to ID and back in 2006 on his HD softtail deuce. He didn't know about this site then so we had to wait for the pics when he got home. His trip inspired Jenny and I to do a cross country trip the next year in 2007. I created a site to log our daily progress and received hundreds of emails from people all over the country who followed our trip online. I still get emails from folks who stumble across our site today. I wanted to do the same for Mike (Pru) so he would have a great site to share his experiences forever. If you want to see our 2007 cross country site then check out my homepage from my profile on this site.

Dave, you are an absolute genius! The website is amazing. I and many of the followers of this adventure certainly appreciate what you are doing with it. I am getting ready to head out from Challis, but the skies do not look good at all. We shall see what happens!

Well, Mike's trip is inspiring to say the least. Following his journey from here and the site has been captivating. I can only hope that when I get the chance to enjoy a trip like this, I can share it with half the ability shown here.

Thank you both

Bill

Thanks Pru, Hope the weather holds out for you. We are really enjoying your trip.

For those that are following your website it may not be apparent how to go directly to a specific day without having to keep clicking the "Next Day" button at the bottom.

The easiest way is to click on the the little orange icon of the United States with the magnifier (it appears right over the day and date at the top right). A map of the US will appear with Mad Dog's route. Click on the portion of the route (green line) that you want to see and that day will be displayed.

Another way is using the dots just to the right of the US map. Each dot represents a day. The big orange dot is the day that is being displayed. As you hover over the dots you will see a number for that day. Click on the dot representing the day you want to be displayed.

To all who are enjoying your page ... You are all most welcome!

For all of you guys who are also following Mad Dog's trip on his website, here is the instructions on how to display a specific day of his trip....

Just to let you guys know what a great job Dave is doing with Mad Dogs web site, I sent him a PM asking him how to jump to the last post, here is the question and answer, way cool!!! Thanks Dave!

Question (from Gas Gauge):
I was wondering if there was a way to add a button on the first screen that would take you to the last screen?

Answer (from Dave):
It's already there but not so obvious. There's two ways to get there. One way is to click the little HDOrange icon of the United States with the magnifier (it appears right over the day and date). A map of the US will appear with Mad Dog's route. Click on the portion of the route (green line) that you want to see and that day will be displayed. Another way is using the dots just to the right of the US map. Each dot represents a day. The big orange dot is the day that is being displayed. Great job Dave....thank you so much!

Dave:

So sorry for the redundant message, I should have taken a deep breath and waited for you to post this yourself, I was so excited when you gave me a private tutorial I wanted to share it with others...I also apologize for stealing your thunder.

another day of great pics, Pru. enjoying everday of it. can't guess which way your going next, but close to yellowstone and grand tetons.

No worries Gas Guage and thanks for following my brother-in-law's adventure.

Dave you have made it so easy to follow Pru that it is addictive. I haven't seen what you do for a living but it it isn't in IT you are missing your calling. By the way one of my first street bikes was a Kaw. LTD 454 and then moved up to a 75 Z1B. Thanks again:s
