iv only used hd oil filters on my sporty and now my rkc lol to afraid of trying anything els ;-) i do spring for the chrome ones tho

Other filters might be better, but never heard of an HD filter causing a problem. Call me old fashioned but I'll stay with the HD filter.

I picked up a Wix filter for twin cam at oreilys then i could not find micron size on box email them they said 21 micron stock #51348 took it back sticking w hd filters for now...

Purolator, Pureone for me none paper constuction , well made good relief valve, for the price none better , Just as good as your high end filters but half the cost

If you look around the forum, you'll see that the aftermarket filters do not filter the 5 micron necessary in the TC engines. Most are more like 20+ microns. What you may or may not save on a filter could cause you somewhere else in repairs.

I would rather use the reliable Harley filter and have a little less chrome on my bike. But, that is just me. :newsmile108:

Well, looks like I am off to the local HD dealer tomorrow to pick up a HD filter in black. This will be my first oil change,on the new to me EGC, so let's get it right :)

Feel most comfortable with HD filter; spec’d for proper filtration and bypass, and one of my two oil wrenches (more like a cap fitting on end of filter) works. :)
