What Brand Bike Did You Ride Prior to HD?

I rode a '76 Kawasaki KZ 900. My wife and I wanted to trade up to a 'newer' used bike. We went to the Kawasaki dealer and I talked her into going to the Harley dealer, because they get trade-ins.

To make a long story short, she loved the new Softail Custom and they gave me more for my trade than the Kawasaki dealer would on a new Vulcan so I thought why would I want another Kawasaki if they didn't want theirs back?
 
i started on a allstate moped from sears when i was 12 then moved up to a 250 maico, when i was 14 bought my first harley, a 1948 hummer that's when the love afair begain. harley ever since
 
Ducati Monster 696, Sold it when I moved between countries.

Would not mind having it back as a second bike for every day use.

I still have the Honda, Fat Bob and of course my Shovel
 
In my early teens and in Jr. High I lusted after one of these....(in red).

However, it was not to be.:( These machines still spin my beanie, but in my heart, I'm HD all the way.:)
