What Brand Bike Did You Ride Prior to HD?

Lot's of used metric bikes over the years both on and off road.

The only 2 that I bought new I still own

1980 Suzuki GS250L
1983 Honda GL1100I

Although I wish I still had the 1966 Triumph Bonneville!
 
45 years of riding. First ride was a step thru Honda 90. First one I owned was a CB 450 Hellcat. I've owned Honda's, Kawasaki's, Triumphs, BSA's, Can Am's, Nortons and HD's.
I still own an ST1100 Honda which is my 2up touring bike, bullet proof and reasonably fast, but my Softail is me time only.
 
My first bike was a Honda XR75 when I was 11 years old. My brother and I saved up and bought it together without our parents permission. It is all history after that. My first street bike I owned legally when I was 15 was a 1965 Honda 305 Scrambler. The scrambler is worth a fortune as a collectors item now, wish I still had it. I actually rebuilt the engine on that bike, my first engine rebuild. That started a career as a mechanic for 20 years.
 
My first bike was a 1977 TS250 Suzuki two stroke, got it when I was in high school, had a lot of fun and good memories on her; last year I traded a 1300 Yamaha Tourer in for my first Harley, I took a loss on it, but everyone I ride with all had, or changed to Harleys, so I had to do the same. No regrets. I love the way my FLHRC fells, and the wife likes it to. My older brother still has a 1974 Suzuki TS400 two stroke stored in dads garage, He bought it new, drove it one or two summers, then put it their for winter storage and never took it out again. And No its not for sale, I been trying to go it from him for years.
 
Aside from mopeds and scooters, my first was an 83 Honda Cr60r. First street bike was a 76 Honda CB550SS (still got it, still ride it).

My first bike was a KX 250 dirt bike nearly killed myself on it,next several years later I owned a Triumph 650 Tiger that was a cool bike wish i still had it.
