GOOD Dealers And Experiences

On June 19 th a group of riders met up and rode from Ohio to Milwaukee to visit the HD museum. Part of the plan was to meet up with a member of hdtimeline in Milwaukee.
Eight miles out of Milwaukee the weather decide to try and end the trip. Monsoon rain and hail. But they kept right on going. One of the bikes battery decide it was time to die and it did. With no were to find a Yamaha V star battery they kept going and called to see if I could locate one and have it for them when they got to Milwaukee.
No problem I know some people than own a Yamaha dealer they open at 9am. Got a hold of them at home they were not sure if they had one in stock. I decide to try farm and fleet and walmart. Farm and fleet no go. Walmart No go, except the person at walmart did not sound so sure of what they were doing. So just for the heck of it I go to the walmart 13 miles from home looked it up myself ,they had one.
But you need to fill it and charge it and walmart could not get to it till the next day.
So what do you get the battery and move on. So a 59-mile ride into Milwaukee with a worthless new battery.
On the way to met the group at the motel I had to ride right past Hals HD in New Berlin. The service department opens early so I pull in.
I set a walmart battery for a Yamaha on the service counter. I said do not ask please fill it and charge as quickly as you can I will be back to get it.
Off to the motel tell the owner, good news we have a battery and it is getting charged at HD. We all take a ride and loop back to the Hal’s HD.
I walk into the service department to get the battery, Kevin Hands the battery to me and said Bob have a nice day. I ask for the bill he says there is no paper work on it.
Thanks to Hal’s no one missed out on any of the fun we had and the rest of the day was 85 degrees and no rain.
But then again some would say just another stealer.

Kudo's to Hal's, and even more to Smitty!
Just an example of an HD Talking friendship of someone that would take the shirt off his back for you.
This really saved us alot of time so we could continue on our tour.

Dillon Bros Harley in Fremont, NE (They also have a larger store in Omaha)

They went out of their way to get me on a bike (something they don't really need to do right now to sell bikes, everyone and their dog is buying around here). Always handled any question with a smile. I didn't get a ($27) T-shirt with the bike, but they threw in a $70 helmet, and a 10% discount on all other purchases.....i left broke, but happy....

And....7 or 8 weeks after the purchase the stator fried. Head tech/mgr checked bike in the parking lot, said 'stator is fried, bring it to me tuesday, we'll fix it'.....bill = $0.00....guess they wanna sell me the next one too.....

I took my '07 Road King Classic back to the dealer where it was purchased for the 1000 mile service. After returning home, I discovered that the clutch lever will not disengage the cruise control. That's not a big deal to me since I use the front brake lever most of the time.

I just this evening got a phone call from my dealer with a service performance survey. Normally, I like the smaller hometown size dealers. They have a tendency to be a little more accommodating.

Renegade Harley in Alexandria, LA.
The staff provided excellent customer service - from the person in clothing, to the sales person, finance, mechanics...you name it. I purchased my bike and my husband purchased his there, too.
We did not feel pressured to make a purchase, dealt with highly knowledgeable, friendly people, and was just blown away!

Bumpus HD in Jackson, Tn - Just bought my first HD from them. Everyone went out of their way to make sure I knew they appreciated my business. No high pressure tactics - just friendly, up-front communication. Took bike back to have some accessories added and the service department was equally friendly, even had someone call me a couple weeks later to ask about my experience and if there was anyway they could improve. Bumpus knows the value of customer service - give'em a try in your West Tn.

On vacation in the Northern Minnesota the first of week of August and my bike breaks down. I limped to the dealership in Duluth MN, Harley-Davidson Sport Center Inc. I told the guy (John) behind the counter that i have a problem . He says bring it in and 10 mins later it is on the stand, problem is found, plan to fix it is completed and then he helps me find a hotel with bar and resturant. The bike repair was completed the next morning before 10 O' clock along with that they washed my bike as well and it needed. So if you need any service while in the northern part of Minnestoa please keep John and his crew at Duluth Harley- Davidson Sport Center in mind. They are a great bunch and know how to take care of your bike and YOU. Thanks Duluth Harley-Davidson

I like the cheaper prices on line but prefer dealing one on one and spending my money local whenever possible; whether HD or "Indy". Unhappy with my local HD dealer I ventured out farther from home and started dealing with Rochester HD, Rochester, NH. First impression has really been great; no problem recommending them to someone else.

Mackie Harley-Davidson (Canada) and Smokey Mountain Harley-Davidson (Tennessee)

1. I am lauding Mackie Harley-Davidson, in Oshawa, Ontario (just east of Toronto). I bought my 2009 Road Glide there, and the sales and service staff have been stand up great folk. I can be a pain in the arse, but they humour me with a smile. Highly recommended!

2. Next, Smokey Mountain Harley-Davidson, in Maryville, Tennessee. I did my 1000 mile service there, on the aforementioned '09 RG. I underestimated how long the ride from Toronto to Maryville would take, while in "break-in" mode, so I ended up at SMHD TWO DAYS later than planned. In fact, I arrived on SATURDAY, which happened to be a busy 'customer appreciation day' (which you should attend some time -- bands, food, great). Anyhow, no problems, they took me in, did the service, on time, in time, I was very impressed. And then, now officially 'broke in', I headed south direct to Deal's Gap... :D

Cheers,

]{evin
