GOOD Dealers And Experiences

Legacy H-D
Midland / Odessa, Texas

I bought my 1st Harely there and they were SUPER friendly and answered all my newbie questions. Zero sales pressure. Price tags on everything. I made several visits before committing and each return visit I was greeted by name. Nice touch. Twice, I had my three little kids in tow and they were making me nervous touching everything. But not a worry from the staff. I've already bought a couple small accessories and the folks in the parts department are very helpful. I look forward to my first service and my eventual Stage 1 upgrade and dyno tuning. By the way, Stephanie - the gal who sold me my bike - is absolutely gorgeous.

Yankee Harley in Bristol, CT.
Even though I posted on this thread ( page 17), I must do so again.
I have a fine Harley Dealer so very close to me ( 20 min away).
This dealership is, today, celebrating it's one year anniversary under new management. (4/17/2010). Prior to the new owners, it was hit or miss. The new owners and Entire staff, are unbelievable !. Everyone ( I do mean Everyone) there treats each customer like they're the best and only customer they have. It feels like family and friends. I had a Major service ($1600) done at another dealership, prior to these new owners. Although the other dealership did 'ok'..there was a problem with heated grips, bought and installed during this service. The grips failed immediately. I wrote, got no response at all...I let it go for the last year..just chalked it up to 'bad luck'. A few weeks ago, I was talking with a few of the staff at Yankee Harley , asking if I should write to corporate Harley about it...I told them that a year has gone by..The staff member took me to meet their new service manager to see what he had to say. He said.." Bring the bike in....we'll take care of it...NO CHARGE"...I was floored.
Yankee Harley didn't do the service/sale of the bike and grips and yet, they were going to take care of it...after a year!. They did so last week.
YANKEE HARLEY in Bristol . CT....Fantastic! If you're in the area, do stop in to experience a dealer and staff that are outstanding in every way.
( I have no connection to Yankee Harley except being a completely satisfied customer)

The GOOD Dealer Service Department

A frind of mine and I were riding our bike up through Oregon a few summers ago. We stopped in Bend Oregon for the night. The next morning we loaded up our bikes, planning on being in the Dalles in the earley afternoon and then on out to the coast.
My buddy and his wife loaded their 2002 EG Classic and jumped on , fired her off, dropped her in gear, let the clutch out and fell over. Seems he left his Krypton disk break lock on........man, there was oil everywhere. it had hit so hard, it knocked the seals out of the front fork legs. Fortunatly they were alright but the forks were damaged to the point that he couldn't continue without repairing them. We got the bike up and the forks were not bent as far as we could tell but the seals were shot and there wasn't any oil left in them.
We limped down to Bears and Roses HD in Bend, got there right before the shop opened at 9. You'd have thought these guys were GLAD to see us, They rolled the bike into the shop and started tearing the front end down, installed new slider bushings, seals and oil and were done by about 11am. On top of that when they took the forks apart they found out that our local Dealer, that had installed chrome forks on the bike, had left the lower slide bushing out on one of the forks. When my buddy went to pay the $600 repair bill the Dealer informed him they were going to bill the Dealer that had left out the bushing and there would be "NO CHARGE" for the repair......that's the last he heard of it! We when on to enjoy our trip and I try to stop at Bears and Roses everytime I go through Oregon.

Re: The GOOD Dealer Service Department

Hallelujah! Wish there was a way to forward this thread to every Harley dealer in the world! If I'm ever in the area, I will go out of my way to stop by, thank them, and spend a little cash in their establishment.

Re: The GOOD Dealer Service Department

Doubting Thomas here. The repairing dealer billed another dealer for leaving a bushing out? For what reason did the other dealer get billed? He didn't forget and leave a lock on that caused the damage. I have never heard of one dealer passing the bill onto another for a mechanic's mistake that wasn't the reason for the damage. i am glad you got such a deal but...

Re: The GOOD Dealer Service Department

Sounds like a fantastic dealer, wish there were more like them.

On a side note, I use the Xena disk lock. It has a built in loud chirping alarm if the bike is moved. No way to forget it and try to ride off. As soon as you stand the bike upright, it starts 'yelling' at you.

XENA Motorcycle Security: disc-lock alarms for motorcycles, scooters and ATVS

A set of button batteries lasts a full riding season. When they get low, it starts a slow beep.....beep....beep to let you know

Re: The GOOD Dealer Service Department

Doubt if you must, I can't explain why the dealer did what he did, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't been there. Apperantly the Dealer thought that, because the slider was left off, it caused the seal failure and that if the slider had been in place the seal wouldn't have cocked. Point is.....Bears and Roses responded, got us fixed and back on the road "toot sweet"........

Athens Harley Davidson / Athens OH, Great sales staff and a superb service dept. I wanted to put a part on at the dealer didnt have the right tool and the tech let me borrow the tool that I needed and even helped me put it on. would recomend them to everyone.

Great Service From Gruene, TX Harley

I dropped off my Sporty for the 5000K check-up and to get an exhaust problem fixed.

I had to get back to work, about 30 miles away, and they gave me a beautiful 2010 Street Glide as a loaner for the day!

Obviously this is good sales technique! I was very impressed with the SG, but I was also happy to get back on my Sporty at the end of the day.

Great dealer, great service, AND 15% off for military!
