Re: Great Service From Gruene, TX Harley

Gruene is one of the me & wifes favorite rides from Houston, love Gruene Hall, I'll have to stop at the dealership next time i'm there and pick up a T-shirt. Thanks for the report!

For about a year I was shopping for a new touring bike. My local HD dealer is Bud's HD in Evansville, IN. The salesman I worked with over that time was Mike Greene (sp?).

Every time I have walked through their doors I was treated like a customer should be treated even though I hadn't bought a thing from them at that point and I was riding a metric. I first test rode a Street Glide but I had a real issue with the bar angle causing pain in my wrist and elbows. The parts people spent a lot of time with me talking about the real lack of options in this department and everything they told me was confirmed by my own searching on numerous forums.

I finally rode an Ultra and we struck a deal with no trauma, at least to me, that I've read about from a lot of other purchasers at different dealers. The bike was cleaned up, filled full of fuel and I was hand walked and introduced to people in every department of the dealership. I was handed a discount card membership, accessory book and update to it, the features and break in fully explained...just a first rate experience front to back.

I haven't tested the service department but from the large number of customers I know I haven't heard much in the way of negative comments which is a good sign.

If you are near SW Indiana, check them out.

Nice prices on chrome and repair:
Jerry B's Cycle Works, St. Clair Shores, MI
a very respectful establishment + they stock some things that the dealers for whatever reason do not have (like 6-Speed Lube).

Detroit Harley Davidson - in Warren, Michigan
Good Dealer - Good service and Parts Department
Reasonable Service Fees - Good People!

I bought my bike from Joe Carson Harley Davidson in Lancaster, Ohio and was very pleased with all of that dealership but have since moved to N.C. Since I've been in N.C. I've been dealing with Davis Harley Davison in Burlington N.C. and have been very well satisfied.Just recently I purchased a new rear tire from them and had it mounted and balanced but a couple of days later it developed a slow leak. Took it back off again and took it back, they had pinched the tube when they put it together. I know from my younger years when I didn't mind beating the crap outa my knuckles that mounting a tubed tire is kind a crap shoot. Even though I was kinda upset about taking the rear wheel of again they took my tire right in on a saturday mornig and took care of it no questions ask.

If in the Atlanta area stop by HD of Atlanta, 501 Thornton Road, Lithia Springs, Ga 30122. Just bought my first HD from them. But for over the last year or so had been visiting frequently buying some small stuff I couldn't find in other shops. Every time I showed up at least 1 salesaman is outside the door greeting me then once inside the greeting from the receptionist and more greeting as you walk around. Now when I bought my bike which was also my birthday they even stayed open late for me to bring my trade in and do the paperwork so I could have my bike for my B-day. now that impresssed me! Now when I show up the salesman who sold me the bike greets me and ask how my wife is and even remembers her name, the customer service here is awesome, as for the service deptmartment they have been great too, had a minor cosmetic problem and they fixed it for free and have answered all my newbie questions. So far am really impressed with this dealership.

Visited the HD dealer in Jan Jose Costa Rica. Let me tell you that they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and also went way above and beyond to make sure we found our way to the next destination.

Background: Costa Rica has no addresses or street names so finding stuff is hard. We spoke no spanish and San Jose is a place where you dont go out at night.

Anyhow after we made are suvi purchases at HD we needed to find an Allstar Cheerleading GYM that my daugher wanted to visit at approx 7pm and it was now 6pm and getting dark. The employee we were dealing with did not know the GYM but knew the area so he showed it to us on the map then decided he should try to find it so we followed him and he got us in general area then he got out and asked locals where it was he then took us there and showed where to park then left. He later came back and went inside to make sure we would be able to find our hotel after we were done.

This is an example of a guy that actually cared. I have his card and plan to send the owner of the dealer a letter along with a letter to Corp HD.

Did not buy bike there but Zannotti Harley in Butler Pa is great. I was shocked when I showed the service manager streak in speedo after 9,200 miles and he said no problem. He said he would order one and I received a phone call a week later and had it installed. I then went back 2 months later for Pa inspection and had a question about charging system and he had it check out at same time and took care of the testing. Small things make a dealer great.

Harley Davidson of Oarange County, CA.

I rode from WA state (near the Canadian border) to Costa Mesa, CA. While I was there, m y '05 FLSTFI began sputtering as though it was running out of gas. Then the front cylinder stopped firing.

I couldn't determine the problem checked wires, plugs and connections. Had plenty of fuel).
I had the bike towed to HDOC. They worked on it for 1 1/2 hours. They finally determined that my after market seat was pinching the plug on the PC, shorting the pins. They removed the PC and the bike ran fine.

They were aware that I was 'on the road' and a long way from home. When they rolled the bike back to the front of the service dept. they said, "You are good to go." I asked, "What's the bill?" Charlie said, "You were in a bind and we are glad we could figure it out and help you. No charge!"

We are planning on moving to that area sometime in the next 2 years, and I definitely found an awesome dealership.
