I keep watching this thread and the pics. Awesome. Some how my
planned trip to Miami in a couple weeks pales in comparison. I'm just
looking at 3 days each direction.

Pru you are an inspriation to all of us. I had planned a trip west this summer but a family emergency got in the way. After reading your post I have a 3 or 4 month trip planned for next year chisiled in stone! Ride safe and thanks for all the ideas.

I am still watching maddog and taking notes even if its killing me. I just hope you are up for another trip in the near future when I can get my stuff togeather. Pictures are great but I am sure they do not do the sceney justice.

Ride hard and stay safe

Motorcycle Adventure, Day 13

Reveille at 0500. Packed the bike and headed further west. I don’t know how it is possible, but the scenery today going through the Sonora Pass was as good or better that anything I have ever seen. I have laid eyes on the Pacific Ocean. 379.3 miles today; 4451 miles thus far. From 0745 to 1045 I had only done 78 miles. I am in Nipomo, CA at my brother in laws brothers house. Pictures to follow:

Mike, you are only 40 minutes away from me. In fact, I drove through Nipomo this morning and I would have stopped if I had checked here before I left this morning. Hope we can get together.

Just talked to Mad Dog on the phone. We are meeting up tomorrow at Santa Maria Harley. Talk about a small world, he was 4,000 miles from home and I was 80 miles from home around noon today and we ended up eating at the same restaurant at the same time. We unfortunately didn't know we were both there until we just talked on the phone.

He will be heading up the coast along Highway 1 tomorrow. The fog should have mostly burned off by the time we get done having coffee and he will see some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. He better pay at least some attention to his riding though. We don't want him falling down those 400 foot cliffs into the Pacific Ocean.

Motorcycle Adventure, Day 14

I slept like a baby last night. The weather in California cannot be beat; why doesn’t everyone move here? This has got to be paradise for a motasickle rider! The Geezer Glide got a reprieve today and didn’t have to carry me anywhere. My brother-in-laws brother let me stay at his beautiful house in Nipomo, CA and he took me to all the great places in the vicinity, including Morro Rock. An absolutely great day! Tomorrow I’m going to try and get up with JimB before heading north on the Pacific Coast Highway to continue the adventure. As I was typing this update, JimB called me and we will meet at 0900 tomorrow. As it turns out we both ate lunch at a Mexican Restaurant called Rudy and Angies at about the same time. What's the chances of that? Pictures to follow
